John Wass
John Wass specialises in:
Pituitary disorders, including growth hormone disorders such as growth hormone deficiency, acromegaly and Cushing's disease.
Thyroid disorders: hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism (overactive and under-active thyroid).
Parathyroid problems, osteoporosis, reproductive hormone disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome and obesity.
Investigations of fatigue.
Weight management.
John Wass is available for academic interests only.
A Bit About John
John helped to found the pituitary foundation. He instigated setting up the obesity health alliance.
He also is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Pituitary Society, the Geoffrey
Harris Prize in Endocrinology from the European Society of Endocrinology (this is the Senior Award of
the European Society).
Professor Wass has also been awarded the Outstanding Clinician Award from the American Endocrine
Society (first UK) and the Outstanding Leadership in Endocrinology Award from the American
Endocrine Society.

Research Interests
His research interests include pituitary tumours, acromegaly, growth hormone deficiency, angiogenesis in endocrinology, and the genetics of osteoporosis and thyroid disease.
